Last September, the Hauts Tolosans community of communes implemented the innovative “Refresh®” technique for the maintenance of roads in three of its communes: Daux, Montaigut-sur-Save and Thil.In total, 2.1 kilometers of track were treated, representing an area of 9759 m². The total cost of this work amounts to €123,615, or €12 per m². The Refresh® technique is based on the complete recycling of road surface layers, thus offering an ecological and sustainable solution for the rehabilitation of pavements. Refresh® in figures is: 100% recycled materials, without the addition of new materials, an 80% reduction in heavy goods vehicle traffic linked to maintenance work, and a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. greenhouse. The process consists of surface milling of the existing asphalt, followed by the addition of specific binders and compaction. This method makes it possible to revive roads by minimizing the ecological footprint and extending their lifespan, while guaranteeing optimal ride quality for users. This project, both economical and environmentally friendly, demonstrates the commitment of Hauts Tolosans to favor innovative, sustainable maintenance techniques adapted to the needs of the municipalities.
