According to the Vannes public prosecutor, a 27-year-old motorist is suspected of having hit the young moped rider before fleeing. The investigations carried out by the gendarmes are clear: the man was driving in a state of obvious intoxication. Seized of the investigation, the Vannes public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation into involuntary manslaughter by the driver of a land motor vehicle.
The motorist involved had already been convicted “for acts of road traffic crime”, said the Vannes prosecutor, Maxime Antier. The man was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention. He faces up to ten years in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros.
