Ce Thursday December 5, 2024all of the unions of the Channel calls for manifest. Rarely, all the different parties are mobilizing within the framework of the public service and for public services.
Brigitte Lepaisant (UNSA), Luc Le Gall (CFDT Défense Normandie), Julie Hamel (CFDT), Florence Desramé (Sud Éducation Manche), Maxime Debout (Secretary Union Départementale CGT), Sylvie Mériel (FO), Franck Lamotte (Territoriaux FO Cherbourg ), are around Martine Quesnel (FSU), in order to oppose the government's bill. Missing from the call are the Autonomous Federation, the CFTC and the CFECGC, but will be present in a few days.
“Scapegoats”
In the midst of a debate on budgetsthe government wants to save money, which is denounced by representatives of the various unions. “The officials are held responsible for the situation. They are the scapegoats, there is bashing officials for several weeks,” presents Martine Quesnel.
Therefore, this day of mobilization is scheduled, because “the cup is full”, denounces the FSU representative.
In fact, the government wishes to put in place three days of waiting time in the event of work stoppage. The unions are opposed to this law and want to be heard. “All of this is done to align with the private sector, except that we forget to mention that it is covered by employers and conventions,” says Martine Quesnel, before giving the floor to Maxime Debout.
« We are clearly attacking the public service and its five million agents in Francewhile they give and serve the population in the general interest. Attacking this service is attacking heritage and those who have nothing. This December 5 is part of this context and follows December 3, when retirees will be mobilized, before other days which will take shape,” claims the departmental secretary of the CGT.
Four gatherings
To be heard, four gatherings are provided for by the inter-union union in the Channel:
- In Cherbourg, Place de la République;
- in Coutances, place du Parvis;
- in Saint-Lô, in front of the media library, from 10:30 a.m.;
- in Granville, opposite the entrance to La Morandière high school, from 10 a.m.
“We are calling on civil servants and users to come and demonstrate on common and obvious demands. We attack the working conditions civil servants, but above all in the daily lives of users. We are all concerned,” Florence Desramé would like to remind us.
