The partnership, initiated by the Departmental Directorate of Labor, Employment and Solidarity (DDTES), between the prefecture, URSSAF and the Union of Hotel Trades and Industries (UMIH) of , aims objective of improving employment in the hotel and catering sector.

Informing employers is therefore the first step. It will be formalized with webinars, newsletters and educational interventions during events, meetings and general assemblies in the sector. These exchanges on “prohibitions” will also make it possible to detect and understand certain unintentional errors committed by professionals in order to remedy it, because “ crossing the line through ignorance calls for an objective response from our services and help to return to the regulatory framework » confirms prefect Thierry Suquet.

The attractiveness of the hotel and catering industry, a major challenge

Patrice Mounier, president of the Umih du Vaucluse, emphasizes that if unscrupulous employers exist and are targeted, we must not hide the responsibility of job candidates who, at the end of a job interview, worry about the share of salary paid in cash with the objective “ of accumulate unemployment benefits and the fruits of their work. At the same time, the various partners wish strengthen the attractiveness of the hotel and catering industryas well as training and support for job seekers, including those whose mobility and housing may be a barrier.

For recruitment assistance, professionals rely on organizations that are already very active, such as Travail, which puts in place adapted actions and specific recruitment sessions organized, particularly on the Académie Provence campus of the CCI.

« 60 % of job seekers who benefited from training in this area found a declared job », underlines the prefect.

For its part,Urssaf which, in 2023, carried out 6 268 controls in the southern region, all sectors combined, including 48 % on hidden work assured by the voice of its director Stéphanie Ougier :« Fighting against illegal work means above all strengthening the rights of employees»but to help the second sector of activity of the department and its 12 000 employees, we must act, « the challenge is to build an environment in which employees evolve with satisfaction ».
