Faced with the mystery of whale strandings in Finistère, scientists unveil a theory

In September 2022, three whales stranded on the coast of southern Finistère a few days apart. In light of the conclusions of the autopsy of the third individual, the thesis of a virus circulating among large cetaceans at that time cannot be excluded.

Was there an epizootic (1) in Finistère waters in 2022? In light of the results of the fin whale autopsy passesthe third stranded in less than a month on the coast of southern Finistère that year, it is a theory which is not without meaning.
