Monday, December 2 in the morning, a traffic accident involving an unlicensed car occurred on rue de la Tambourine in Saint-Dizier. The driver, who was taken into custody, lost his life.

A long line of vehicles runs along rue de la Tambourine, a stone's throw from Saint-Dizier station. It is here that Laurent Voillemin, 55, residing in Vert-, went “straight” behind the wheel of a car without a license and hit the low wall which demarcates the bus lane in front of the SNCF station. It was 7:50 a.m., no other vehicles or road users were involved.

The victim was quickly taken care of.

As the emergency operations commander (COS) points out, this type of vehicle does not have an airbag. The victim was treated on site by firefighters then by SMUR, who placed him in intensive care. The man unfortunately died in the morning. A victim rescue and assistance vehicle (VSAV), a road rescue vehicle (VSR) and the national police were mobilized.

A few minutes later, around 8:10 a.m., a shard of window hit a bus, on the driver's side, in the same rue de la Tambourine. The incident, which has no connection with the traffic accident, did not cause any casualties.
