On the fence bordering the facade of Bordeaux town hall, three artists are busy using spray paint.

The renovation work on the gate, which was set on fire during the demonstrations against pension reform, thus offers the town hall the opportunity to inscribe the expression “liberty, equality, fraternity” in front of the Palais Rohan.

A graffiti created by three Peruvian artists, chosen as part of the twinning between Bordeaux and the city of Lima.

The registration had been planned before the legislative elections and would have been registered whatever the results. But it takes on a completely different flavor for the green mayor Pierre Hurmic.

” It is a simple and political message and it is particularly important to remember this in the current context,” he emphasizes.

As a reminder, following the second round of the legislative elections, he said he had passed “weeks of worry” faced with the risk that the RN will obtain a majority of seats in the Assembly. He also calls for calm and appeasement, faced with “the noise and the fury”.

The graffiti should be completed by the evening of July 8 and will remain for the duration of the work. More information should be communicated about the construction site during the municipal council of July 9.
