A thousand passionate spectators, a colorful atmosphere, popular fervor at its peak, and above all an intense and indecisive high-level match, CAN 2024 ended in apotheosis. Romdhane Nairi, the child of the Grace of God neighborhood, will have been the prophet in his neighborhood by leading his young teammates to victory. The handyman of Tunisia, alternately coach and goalkeeper, had announced the colour before the penalty shootout: “I’m going to save two penalties and we’re going to win”… Well seen, champion!

A memorable finale!

Trailing since the middle of the first period, the Tunisians had reversed the situation by equalizing just before the break and taking the lead just after. However, they were to be caught in the final seconds on a classy collective action concluded by Crespo Keita, elected best player of the tournament. The efficiency in the penalty shootout was going to crown the Tunisians without the Ivorians having been unworthy. It is the law of sport and the latter admitted it with sportsmanship.
