Double Olympic medalist and multiple world champion, the French taekwondo legend will be the captain of the torch relay in Gennevilliers. Accompanied by a team of 24 people, made up of champions, everyday athletes and other volunteers, Pascal Gentil will once again make taekwondo shine in France, this time in the heart of Avenue Gabriel-Péri.

The flame’s journey through Gennevilliers will begin on the forecourt of the town hall at 3 p.m. and will end on Place Voltaire.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., along the Maria-Casarès alley and on the forecourt of the town hall, many activities await you:

  • sports initiations with basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, tennis, boxing, roller derby and taekwondo clubs,
  • outdoor games and activities including a mini sports stadium, customization of caps and bags, sports-themed pyrography, fencing with foam breastplate and sword, a leapfrog event, etc.
  • a mini-marathon for children from leisure centres and a flash mob
  • a giant fresco
  • a rappel from the 19th floor of the tower
  • promenade of the batucada Ô Brigad

The flame will be lit at 3 p.m. on the forecourt of the town hall.
