Jade, Noémie and Lola, 19 years old, but also Kyllian, 20 years old, the four of them will be present at the magical Christmas of La Ferté-Bernard (Sarthe), on Friday December 13 and Saturday December 14, 2024, to offer for sale, pancakes, waffles, hot dogs, sand roses, coffee, hot chocolate and other ant eggs (sweet treat made from puffed rice, editor's note). But they will work for the collective.
We are students in BTS Nature management and protection at the Maison famille agricole des Forges, in La Ferté-Bernard and are organizing actions to finance a two-week technical stay in Guyana, in March 2025.
These students in Sarthe looking for 40,000 euros for their trip to Guyana
If they are present at La Ferté, other comrades will be at the Cherré Christmas market. And everyone spares no effort to try to raise the 40,000 euros necessary for their departure. “We have already collected a little more than 28,000 euros,” rejoice the students.
“We sell pain au chocolat within the MFR every morning. Some weekends, we stay to work on Saturday to do hedge trimming, uprooting or clearing brush in private homes. These projects are paid around 800 euros! And once every four years there is something called the gland. We went to the forests of Bellême and Bercé to harvest acorns, which sell for 2.80 euros per liter and this allowed us to collect more than 2,000 euros,” explains Jade.
Tombola, online prize pool, sale of Christmas sweets at the Night of Colors…
Who hopes, with his comrades, to further increase the prize pool. “For the moment, this trip costs us 500 euros to participate to which we must add 100 euros of vaccine. The more money we raise, the less we pay. »
An online prize pool has been created, the students will also be present at the Night of Colors on December 7, and they have also launched a raffle.
We sold tickets to our families and loved ones, and we will put some on at the Christmas market. In total, with the 80 booklets, and at 2 euros per ticket, this could allow us to obtain 1,600 euros in profits because the prizes are only donations, like places for Center Parcs, for the Château de Chambord, for the Beauval and La Flèche zoos, Puy du Fou. But we also have fruit baskets and other board games thanks to numerous local donations too.
Who already sees himself studying the Guyanese fauna and flora. “We have nighttime amphibian and reptile outings planned, as well as ornithological outings, a visit to the reserve, to marshes with caimans, and to spiders, in fact Noémie is delighted! » laugh the students. Who spare no effort to bring their project to fruition.
