The situation in the Engadine eased on Monday after the bad weather at the weekend. By midday, all roads in the canton were passable again and the water had receded from St. Moritz.

On Sunday, a small part of the St. Moritz resort was flooded up to half a metre deep due to the overflowing of the Ovel da Tegiatscha mountain stream. On Monday, the affected part of the resort was once again free of water, the local management staff told the Keystone-ATS news agency. The damage amounts to several hundred thousand francs, particularly to the historic Forum Paracelsus refreshment bar.

In the entire Engadine, all roads and access routes in the canton were open again on Monday morning, according to the Grisons Public Works Office. On Sunday, sections of road between Brail, Zernez and Susch were temporarily under water or covered with debris from small landslides.

In the Inn Valley, the flood risk has been raised from level 4 on a scale of 5 to level 2. A moderate flood risk remains until Wednesday, but flooding is unlikely according to the Federal Office for the Environment.
