Andromak Pequatre, we recognize her among thousands. Andromaque, in Greek, the one who fights men: you couldn’t make it up. A little woman, covered in drawings, and who, it must be said, doesn’t mince her words. After twenty years spent doodling people, satisfying the sometimes abracadabra requests of her clients, Andromak traded her needles for a microphone, and embarked on the crazy project of going on stage. With her atypical career, she tells us about her beginnings, when being a woman who tattooed was not so well regarded. Her crazy misadventures too, like when a mother, excited by her rebellious project, comes to get her children’s first names tattooed, plus dates of birth…

Rather than stand-up, it’s a finely written, intelligent, incisive, sometimes acid one-woman show. The acting is well-crafted and opens the doors to a much-fantasized profession. Andromak has made cover art – covering up a tattoo you regret – her specialty. One thing you won’t regret? The hour spent in her company! Far from being aimed solely at the niche of tattooed people, Confession of a Tattooist will delight the curiosity of everyone, inked or not!

“Confession of a Tattooist” at the Castelet theater, 113 rue Carreterie, at 7:45 p.m., until July 21 (closed on July 18). Prices €12 and €18. Information 0614321863
