The results are just in. In the 5th constituency of Eure (cantons of Vernon, Gisors, Les Andelys and Romilly-sur-Andelle), the outgoing (RN) deputy, Timothy Houssinwas elected after coming first in the second tour early legislative elections.

1302 votes difference

He thus collected 51.13% of the votes cast, ahead of the candidate (Horizons) Frederic Duchywho obtained 48.87% of the votes. 1302 votes separate the two candidates.

The rate of participation stands at 66.92%.

However, Frédéric Duché managed to convince 13,703 new voters compared to the first round (14,332 voters on June 30). As for Timothée Houssin, the gap is much smaller since he only received 2,737 additional votes.

As a reminder, during the second round of the legislative elections in 2022, Timothée Houssin was ahead of his opponent, François Ouzilleau, by 400 votes (50.63% for the first and 49.37% for the second).

Not serene at the start of the evening

Early in the evening, the outgoing MP was not very confident about this second round. “The results seem very close everywhere… But for the moment, it’s not really positive for us,” Timothée Houssin had indicated, during the counting of the ballots in Bois-Jérôme-Saint-Ouen.

Now that re-election is in his pocket, the representative of the National Rally will celebrate this new victory during an election evening in the company of party activists.
