At a time when the desertification of services is severely felt in many rural communities, many of them flocked to the heart of a new oasis.
Two brand new islets were inaugurated in the presence of nearly two hundred people at the exit of Chaumont-en-Vexin (Oise).
Located between the sports plain and the hospital center, a stone's throw from the Guy-de-Maupassant college, the new buildings of the Centre social rural and the Departmental Solidarity House are already the pride of the region's elected officials.
14 months of work
After only fourteen months of work, these two distinct but connected and coordinated spaces emerged from the ground thanks to the effective action of the Babel architectural firm.
Both structures offer a wide range of services to the population.
On the tail side, the Departmental Solidarity House brings together several spaces dedicated to integration or even a medical office.
On the front side, the Centre social rural welcomes France Services missions and has rooms capable of hosting intergenerational activities: fablab, dance, gym, sophrology, etc.
The site is also a natural welcoming place for associations.
“The Vexin-Thelle has not finished growing and transforming” rejoiced Bertrand Gernezpresident of the eponymous community of communes.
More than a million euros for construction
When listing the financial partners, essential to the construction of the two buildings, he did not hide his satisfaction:
“We finally succeeded, despite a few sleepless nights.”
The Centre social rural benefited from an envelope of €1,067,010 from the Oise Departmental Council (€896,010 for studies and construction and €171,000 for roads).
-At the time of the joint inauguration, other financial partners were welcomed: the State for €575,000, the CAF (family allowance fund) for €266,000, the Region for €750,000 and the com 'com for €763,00.
The Departmental House of Solidarity also benefited from €600,000 in support of investment support from the Departments and a total envelope of nearly one million Euros from the Oise Departmental Council.
So many investments directly represented Tuesday by the president of the Department, Nadège Lefebvredirectly challenged by the president of the Centre social rural, Jean-Pierre Gilles.
“I still remember your first visit. I took you by the arm to show you the conditions in which we had to work. And for us who are fighting against inequalities, these new premises are the symbol of success.”
Fight against isolation
A version slightly corrected by the president of the Department with humor.
“I will tell you the real story: I came to see the Departmental House shortly after my election. I was contacted by Jean-Pierre Gilles who left me no choice: I also had to see the rural social center. Today, thanks to these new premises we can proudly display our policy of fighting against territorial divisions. Rural life must remain connected to the rest of the nation. Inclusion is at the heart of our republican pact.”
Comments supported by the mayor of Chaumont-en-Vexin, Emmanuelle Lamarque, also regional councilor for Hauts-de-France.
“Every village, every town, deserves to benefit from infrastructures like those we are inaugurating today. We will continue to fight against the isolation which sometimes weighs heavily in rural areas.”
Since 1966
At the end of the speeches, everyone shared a drink of friendship in the largest gymnasium of the rural social center.
A beautiful image of continuity for an association originally created in 1966 by the Mutualité Sociale Agricole and which makes available to all audiences, from 3 years old, a complete range of social and cultural activities and actions which meets the needs and wishes of the inhabitants of the 37 communes of Vexin-Thelle.
Its neighbor, the Maison Départementale de la Solidarité has 18 professionals. Among them, four agents carry out the maternal and child protection mission (nurse, childcare worker, childcare assistant and young child educator).
So many services offered within the new infrastructures inaugurated at 46 bis, rue Pierre Budin in Chaumont-en-Vexin.
