Born in Châteauroux, Christian Plat, 64, has been a specialized educator throughout his professional life. He has worked with different audiences, children, adults, adolescents, in several establishments in the Center region, in multiple functions.
The care of adolescents “difficult” was one of his professional passions. Now retired, he continues his profession part-time, within a training establishment for future professionals in the sector.
Genesis of the novel
Memoirs of a runaway was born from his reflections, his observations and his experience with these adolescents in distress.
A true plea for educators who work in the shadow of these young people, this work attempts to restore the spirit in which he practiced his profession, within multidisciplinary teams and with sometimes complex partners.
Synopsis
Memoirs of a runaway highlights all of this professional experience, through the fictional story of Mattéo, which takes place on the Larzac plateau, a region dear to the author.
The reader follows the story of the young hero, from his birth until his 18th birthday, from his dysfunctional parents to his meetings, friends, social workers, doctors, including his running away, his confrontations with a sometimes harsh and absurd system. , its sometimes violent pains, but also its victories and its hopes.
In an increasingly harsh world, this book aims to bring hope for professionals and the young people they support.
