the essential
It is Franck Artault who now takes the reins of Tarn-et-Garonne, succeeding Pascal Granié who had been there for sixteen years.
A page is turning in Tarn-et-Garonnais Cycling. Led for 16 years by Pascal Granié, the departmental committee FFC (French Cycling Federation) has a new president in the person of Franck Artault (Montauban cycling 82), who inherits from 'an organization in excellent health, but also, like other sports, which must follow developments and reinvent itself. The general meeting took place this Sunday, in the Jacques-Chirac space, in Montauban. In the moral report presented by secretary Thierry Frutoso, the fall in licensees due to the Covid episode is stopped, when the concern is at the level of volunteers, where the fall approaches 25%. However, during the last organizations young people came to strengthen the teams, which is encouraging for the future. Concerning the road, the urban but also rural environment which is constantly evolving means that this discipline suffers at the level of organizations and practitioners. For BMX, the Occitanie Cup contested in Campsas in October was a great success. On the financial side, presented by the treasurer Sandrine Sansegolo, the CD82 is slightly surplus which shows that the finances are managed as accurately as possible.
“A peaceful transition”
Moved, Pascal Granié passed on the torch with the feeling of duty accomplished: “After 16 years as chairman of the committee, it was legitimate to allow a new team, and a new president, to carry the destiny of the departmental committee. I am very happy that this handover was carried out in a peaceful, constructive manner with the desire to unite all the departmental forces and clubs. The new president Franck Artault, licensed at MC 82, from BMX, with a vice-president, in the person of Cyril Rous, from the CAC cycling, will, I am convinced, be able to propose a unifying sporting project focused on the whole cycling disciplines. As for me, it is with a little nostalgia, but with a lot of satisfaction that I pass the baton. I want to thank all the volunteers who, for 16 years, trusted me and worked alongside me, with sincerity and conviction, for the good of cycling. A very special thought for Valentine Badiano, our departmental advisor who, for 10 years, with her kindness and natural benevolence, has contributed to the influence of our discipline within schools and other departmental structures. »
For the sporting report, presented by Valentine Badiano, the intensity of the program should be noted: support for clubs labeled as a cycling school, which represents more than 120 interventions, the establishment of departmental and regional courses, and numerous interventions subject to the development of cycling activity, in colleges, riding skills in schools, leisure centers, municipalities, and various associations as part of the health and mobility by bicycle program. At the end of the meeting, the election of the group which will manage the CD82 for the next four years is carried out, and on this occasion BMX, long absent from the governing bodies, makes its entrance. Election followed by the presentation of awards to the champions of Tarn-et-Garonne.
Election of the CD 82 steering committee: Frédéric Amaral, Franck Artault, Jean Pierre Audard, Thierry Frutoso, Pascal Granié, Yann Le Guellaut, Robert Panissard, Sylvain Filhes, Cyril Rous, Alexandre Roustain, Karin Salgado, Céline Tosin, Éric Trastet
