The activities of the flagship winter event are coming for its tenth anniversary with 45 artisan chalets and 500 dancers. The big evening of the Fairies will take place on December 7.
45 artisan chalets, 500 dancers, 19 meters for the tree… Among all the figures relating to the Winter Fairies, one of them was mentioned at the opening of the press conference. The party event “his ten years”underlined Nicolas Daragon, in the presence of the protagonists of this great winter meeting. Enough to put the spotlight on an event that gives pride of place to light.
The illuminations mark their return from November 22 to January 12, 2025 on the station-Place Aristide Briand-Champ de Mars axis, the shopping streets and Place Porte Neuve with an increased number of lighting patterns. All in parallel with traditional illuminations: sparkling garlands in the trees on Place de la Liberté, ceilings of gold and silver lights on Avenue Victor-Hugo, starry suspensions in the Rues des Alpes, Faventines and Pasteur.
Residents will enjoy seeing the highlights that marked the success of previous editions. The Ferris wheel extends its height 35 meters and the Santa Claus ride will be in full swing from 4 p.m. until January 12.
Great evening on December 7
For its part, the big evening of the Féeries will punctuate the city with its 500 dancers for an hour from the Chaban Delmas hall to the Champ de mars on December 7 from 6:30 p.m. The fireworks will close with fairy tales of light this day at 7:30 p.m. on the Champ de Mars. The Christmas village will take up residence from November 29 to December 24 with 45 chalets from Rue Digonnet to Boulevard Bancel. Culinary specialties but also various shopping. “We have once again ensured the balance between food and crafts”specified Georges Rastklan, deputy in charge of businesses.
Trail nocturne
But the Winter Fairies are not limited to the festivities. On December 14 at 7:30 p.m., the night trail will hit the pavement during an eight-kilometer race starting from the Champ de Mars (registrations on Valence-triathlon.com). “Without forgetting culture”spoke elected representative Marie-Françoise Pascal, indicating that until April 13 at the museum an exhibition bringing together sixty works by the artist Jaume Plensa is planned. On this occasion a large 4.77 m steel sculpture named The messenger was acquired and will take pride of place at Place des Ormeaux. An event which takes place 30 years after the artist's first visit to Valencia. One birthday calls for another.
