Successful open days Saturday morning at the health center in western Val-de-Ruz, in the premises of the former municipal administration of Geneveys-sur-Coffrane. The public came in large numbers to visit the medical office which has been welcoming patients since the beginning of September and the therapy and well-being center which opened a month later. The least we can say is that the public present appreciates this new health offer. “It represents the development of our town, the proximity,” enthuses a young mother who came to visit the place.
For the moment, there is only one general practitioner who works 80% at the Geneveys-sur-Coffrane medical center. And the patients immediately responded. The Volta health group which manages the practice is looking for other practitioners. “It’s an obstacle course, but we have good hopes over the next 12 to 18 months of bringing in at least one or two doctors,” confirms Yann Crapio, deputy general director of the Volta health group.
The first floor of the building, now dedicated to health, has been home to a therapy and well-being center since October, managed by an association. There are different practitioners who offer massage, kinesiology, nutrition, hypnosis and even midwifery, a non-exhaustive list. Here again, the offer seems to meet a real need. “For the moment, we have 18 practitioners and others are waiting,” rejoices Giuseppina El Harti, the president of the association.
As a reminder, before making the premises available to the two centers, the Municipality of Val-de-Ruz carried out renovation and sanitation work on the building for nine months. /cwi
