Algeria Foot – After the CAF sanctioned a player from the Berkane club in Morocco, it is the court’s turn to get involved and sanction the Moroccan team.

Indeed, the Berkane Court of First Instance imposed a fine of 1,000 dirhams and a two-month stadium ban on a supporter of the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB). Youssef Chater was accused of invading the pitch of the Berkane municipal stadium, brandishing the Palestinian flag, during the first leg of the African Football Confederation Cup final between RSB and the Egyptians of Zamalek, which was held on May 12.

After CAF, Berkane club sanctioned by the courts: on the basis of which article?

This decision is based on Article 308-11 of the Penal Code, which states: “Anyone who enters or attempts to enter by force or fraud, a sports venue, gym or any other place where a competition or sporting event is taking place, shall be punished by a fine of 1,200 to 5,000 dirhams. Without prejudice to more serious criminal provisions, anyone who enters or attempts to enter, without legitimate reason, the playing field, ring or racecourse, during the course of a competition or sporting event, shall be punished by the same penalty.”
