A record collection for blood donation in this Dordogne village

IThere was reason to rejoice because the collection was good. In fact, no less than 116 people came to donate blood on Wednesday November 27 in Brantôme. And among these donors, there were six who came for the first time. This makes it, for the moment, one of the best collections of the year 2024, even better than that of last October 2.

This is how in total, over the year 2024, there were 559 donors, which makes the Brantôme section one of the most prolific in the department. But it must be said that the Brantôme association was created in 1965 and therefore has a precedence which allows it to be recognized in the territory.

Additional volunteers

Nicole Bacharetie, the president of the Brantômais group, wanted to warmly thank all her colleagues in the volunteer team, made up of twelve to thirteen people, who dedicate themselves without counting to help the donors and offer them the final reward in the form of a good, particularly invigorating snack. She wanted, among these volunteers, to highlight the team which installs and collects, once the collection is done, the indicator signs as well as the posters and others which allow people to be informed of the collection and which allow you to get to the dolmen room.

She wanted to thank all the suppliers and commercial partners who agree to install the posters in their store or who provide food for the necessary snack which follows the blood tests. A special mention was made to the restaurant Le Gergovie, located on the departmental road which links Brantôme to Périgueux and which agreed to install a large banner to announce the date of the blood donation in Brantôme.

Nicole Bacharetie also emphasized that, even if the team was united and functioning perfectly, two or three additional volunteers would not be “a luxury,” knowing that the constraint is that they be free and available during the day, particularly on collection days. .
