The Arc-En-Ciel association, established last year in Corsica, aims to bring a ray of sunshine into the daily lives of children suffering from a serious illness. At the end of the year, she is organizing a major auction of works by island artists, in , in order to raise the necessary funds.

Joël Bazzali doesn't stop running. The representative in Corsica of the Arc-En-Ciel association, which makes the dreams of sick children come true, sees the date of Saturday December 14 quickly approaching. And preparations are well underway.

That evening, at the House of Latin America, in Paris, in the Saint-Germain des Prés district, a large evening is organized, followed by an auction of works by island artists or those linked to Corsica.

And Joël Bazzali is the instigator, with Muriel Ferrandini, of the Bel'Arti gallery, in Calvi.

“She was sensitive to the approach of the Arc-En-Ciel association, and we took on this challenge. She offered to collect a work from artists who were exhibiting in her gallery, and to put them on display. sale to raise funds.

If Joël Bazzali chose Paris, it is for a good reason: “We wanted to give a national dimension to what we do in Corsica. We usually implement actions at the local level, but we wanted to mark the occasion, and reach as many people as possible. It is sometimes difficult for our association to 'exist in the shadow of large, high-profile associations, such as ELA or the Telethon…”

And yet, to make the dream of sick children come true, as was recently the case with Ajaccian Raphaël Leca, suffering from cancer, and who set off into the streets with colorful walls of Bairo Alta, Mourrarria or Alfama, in Lisbon, the world capital of street art, you need money. Lots of money.

The call for donations and charity evenings such as the one on December 14 are the only way to raise money. “In the first months of 2025 alone, weten childhood dreams to come true in Corsica, and each time, it costs between 2,800 and 3,500 euros.

A few weeks ago, unexpected news disrupted the plans of Joël Bazzali and those of the Arc-en-Ciel association. “We didn't expect the pope to come to Corsica! If we had known, we would never have scheduled our evening the day before his arrival in . We will be in Paris, but many people who were supposed to join us have already let us know that they would stay in Corsica. I understand them, of course, the Pope's arrival is historic, but for us it is annoying. And then I think of all these artists who were not satisfied with us. give one of their works but who created a work for the occasion…”

While Joël's concerns are understandable, the first signs remain encouraging. For the dinner on the 14th at the Maison de l'Amérique Latine in Paris, 150 places are available, and 112 places have already been taken. And then the mobilization is in full swing, the calls to support this great initiative are numerous, unsurprisingly.

A few days ago, Professor Fabrice Barlesi, oncologist specializing in thoracic cancers and director of Gustave Roussy, the first cancer center in Europe, relayed the information on his X account:
