During her press conference taking stock of current events in the world of health, the territorial director of the Regional Health Agency (ARS), Aline Guibelin, highlighted an innovative system in terms of educational inclusion. “We are one of the four pioneering departments in the education support centers (PAS) which target children in difficulty at school or college, who have a concern for learning or living together. The Côte-d'Or is divided into 17 territories, each of which benefits from a team made up of a trained teacher (from National Education) and educators specializing in disabilities (from the ARS). The idea is to support what already exists, by being more agile. »
The PAS can intervene as soon as a difficulty is raised by the teacher, before a diagnosis and a Home for Disabled Persons (MDPH) file. “We act directly with the student and their teacher by providing them with tools or guiding them. We also support the family in the process of recognizing the disability if necessary. » The ARS invested 2 million euros for the “educators” part.
