The Telethon began this Friday, November 29. This Saturday, events attract crowds in many towns. In Uchaud, the Gard-Sud flagship town where participants are ready to beat the record of €10,000 collected last year for the benefit of the AFM-Téléthon.

After the theater performance on Friday evening, five associations joined forces to set up the medieval village, on the square in front of the Christian-Eymard party space, in Uchaud, during the night from Friday to Saturday.

The common thread of the flagship Téléthon city, Gard-Sud began at 10 a.m., with the godmother of the Téléthon, Malvina Pradier, accompanied by Pascale Loison, head of Gard-Sud of the AFM Téléthon and Michel Alcaraz, deputy in charge associations. The common thread consists of gluing milk cartons to a cardboard castle. More than 2,000 bricks were sold for €1 each, after they were decorated by visitors.

“The objective of beating last year's donation record, around €10,000, will be largely exceeded and the morning of this Saturday, November 30, launched the 2024 Telethon, for our city of Uchaud, a flagship city this year. year”comments the elected official, Michel Alcaraz.

The 5 km and 10 km walk brought together more than seventy people, on the town hall square, where various activities were offered by the associations.

At the same time, an equestrian trek from the Vers-Pont-du-Gard cavalry, with around thirty riders, was heading towards the communes of Uchaud, Langlade, Saint-Dionisy, Nages-et-Solorgues, Boissières and returning to Uchaud through the scrubland, escorted by Uchaud municipal police officers, to Boissières. Association which will make a donation
for the benefit of the Uchaud Telethon.

The highlight, like every year at the Telethon, is the meal with karaoke entertainment at the Christian-Eymard space, where 170 people are expected for a paella.

On the program this Sunday, December 1st from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. medieval village; the long one: 9 hours, lunch at Aubord; 10 a.m. departure to Bernis arrival at 10:45 a.m., Uchaud 11 a.m., Vestric 11:45 a.m., aperitif and meal at midday; 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., sale of cotton candy by Buffalo Grill Nîmes; 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. sale of small items knitted by Uchaud Tricot and cakes (choux) by the La Fon de Bébian association (space hall); 4:30 p.m., doors open and sale of boxes for the big lotto which will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Christian-Eymard space. Sale of magnets, selfie terminal and refreshment bar.

In Milhaud

A crazy weekend for the Telethon began with a magnificent belote competition organized by the Milhaud Mille dons and Milhaud Loisirs associations.

Eighty people – young and old – at the start of the night walk in the scrubland, where mulled wine and hot chocolate were distributed by the hunters. Activities and solidarity continue this Sunday, December 1st.

In Milhaud, the night march brought together 80 participants.
