Two men arrested during the interception in Isère of a “go-fast” made up of two vehicles traveling in convoy with on board one of them nearly 23 kilos of cocaine intended for trafficking in and , been indicted and imprisoned, the Grenoble prosecutor's office announced on Friday, November 29.

The drug, with a value “estimated at more than a million euros”, was packaged in loaves hidden “in a cache”, public prosecutor Eric Vaillant said in a press release. The two men, aged 24 and 30, are from the Lyon region. They were arrested Tuesday on the RN7 between Chanas and according to the regional daily Le Dauphiné Libéré.

Months of investigation carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Office of the department of Isère have highlighted “the existence of drug import routes from Spain carried out by a network of experienced traffickers and intended for supply of deal points in the Lyon and Grenoble areas”, explained Eric Vaillant.

Searches also led to the seizure of 100,500 euros at the home of the driver of the vehicle opening the convoy, added the prosecutor.

They were indicted for “importation, acquisition, transport, possession, offer or transfer of narcotics, criminal association and laundering of drug trafficking”. One of the two men was already known for drug dealings.
