the essential
This Saturday, November 30, a man was killed in Loubens, a town located northeast of Foix, in Ariège. The traffic accident occurred in the morning on departmental road 11.
The firefighters were alerted this Saturday, November 30, around 8 a.m., that a traffic accident had occurred on departmental road 11, in Loubens. A motorist apparently left the road, his vehicle ended up on the shoulder, in the ditch.
The firefighters intervened quickly on the scene, accompanied by the Smur (Mobile Emergency and Resuscitation Structure) and the gendarmerie helicopter, sent to transport the victim to the hospital. The RD11 was cut to allow emergency services to extricate the motorist. Unfortunately, they could only note the man's death at the end of the intervention.
“A resident of the village”
According to the mayor of Loubens Régis Lassus, the victim, aged 19, would be “a resident of the village, but I don't know more at the moment”.
The circumstances of the accident have not been determined. Considering the beginnings of the investigation which was opened, it seems that the vehicle was the only one involved. For Régis Lassus, the RD11 is not particularly dangerous “even if a few accidents have already occurred”.
