The municipal council of November 27 included 23 files and took place in a “calm, with some debates, but less tense than in the past” atmosphere, observed one of the members of the majority. The opposition certainly questioned the majority, but voted for all the files, in particular the “vegetation of the enclosure park into a community botanical park”, for which the municipality made a request for a subsidy from the Community of municipalities of Grand Villeneuvois (CAGV).
For the mayor, Pierre-Jean Pudal, “this will create a living and meeting space in a residential area of the city center”. This action is part of a global requalification project following the destruction of two social housing buildings in 2008 and to eliminate a heat island in a very mineralized bastide. Many species of plants representing the different communities living in Sainte-Livrade-sur-Lot will be planted. Work is being carried out with students from the Étienne-Restat high school as part of the teaching “ecology, agronomy, territories, sustainable development” so that they participate in the development of this park.
Jean-Paul Pereuil, main opponent, highlighted the lack of maintenance and hygiene on the current site. The cost of the project is estimated at 39,244 euros (amount excluding taxes). Self-financing is estimated at 15,061 euros, to which is added aid from the State (16,334 euros) and the CAGV (7,848 euros).
Throughout the files
Furthermore, regarding economic development, the Council approved the opening of businesses for six Sundays in 2025. Elected officials approved several files on the compensation system for municipal agents, intended to upgrade or harmonize certain bonuses “for a fairer system”. The Council also took note of the final observation report from the Regional Chamber of Accounts “and the contradictory report which sets out the measures applied following the recommendations”. Before unanimously voting on the motion of support for French and Lot-et-Garonnais farmers.
