On this axis limited to 90km/h but sadly known for experiencing excessive speeding, a 68-year-old motorist traveling in the direction of Milly-sur-Thérain stopped on the emergency lane of the road shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Although we do not know with certainty how the events unfolded, a motorist managed to narrowly avoid him before losing control of her car, which ended up “in a ditch” according to a source close to the matter.

A third vehicle was unable to avoid the stopped vehicle, and hit the sixty-year-old's car head-on from behindcausing the death of its occupant.

An investigation opened for aggravated manslaughter

Toxicological analyzes carried out on the driver of the third vehicle made it possible to determine that he was “under the influence of an alcoholic state and after having used narcotics”, confirmed the Beauvais public prosecutor's office. In addition, his license had been suspended following a previous conviction.

“Judicial proceedings were opened by the Beauvais public prosecutor's office under the charge of aggravated manslaughter and entrusted to the Marseille-en-Beauvaisis gendarmerie brigade,” said the prosecutor.
