Nearly 50 hats, berets and personalized headwear, high-end, hand-made hats come out of the Atelier Fernand Robert, a hat factory located in Coulaines (Sarthe), every week.

The site organizes a hat clearance from July 9 to 13, 2024 and allow the public to see how a handmade hat is made.

A big clearance sale for the wedding season

The Atelier Fernand Robert is organizing a clearance sale of its hats from old collections. The public will be able to come on site from July 9-13from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The opportunity to find your hat for a future ceremony while discovering how hats are made artisanal way.

“We decided to hold a sale to clear out the stock, we have one in winter and one in summer,” recalls the director of Atelier Fernand Robert.

“Customers love to see the hat press, a century-old machine that is used to shape the hat.”

A know-how that is exported

Four years ago, the Coulaines workshop had four employees. Today, they are 35 to work within the factory. “We have a very loyal local clientele who appreciate being able to have personalized proposals.”

And the clientele is also internationale. “We work with English clients, Moroccan palaces, the United Arab Emirates. We are manufacturers: we manufacture for clients,” rejoices Axelle Jarrossay, director of the Coulaines site. “We recently made a sisal groom’s hat for a palace in Morocco. »
