One evening, Florent, overwhelmed by crying, shakes Oriane violently. One time too many. At the Provins hospital where the little girl, admitted too late, ended up dying… The forensic scientists discovered that the child had already been shaken three or four times. From this trial, against a backdrop of great social insecurity, we will have to remember the pleadings of two lawyers. Two sides of a social drama

Florent, who appeared free at his trial, was sentenced to seven years in prison, accompanied by socio-judicial monitoring of three years including, care and obligation to work. In her submissions, the attorney general had requested 10 years in prison based on the accused's total lack of awareness.

Since Oriane's death, her mother has had two other pregnancies, one shortened by an abortion and the second giving birth to a little boy. A child who has been taken from the parents and is now placed with the grandparents. The accused had already spent nine months in pre-trial detention, shortly after his arrest in 2017.
