On the evening of November 14, Maxime was arrested while driving his car while intoxicated. He was therefore placed in police custody, as required by procedure. However, the experience of the 27-year-old young man at the Pontarlier police station would have gone particularly badly. Especially with a police officer. “I felt humiliated,” he confides. “He said demeaning things to me. » In addition, Maxime denounces an extremely dirty cell. He even ended up in the emergency room after a panic attack that left him with nosebleeds. The fault, according to him, is the treatment inflicted by the agent in question. His custody lasted 48 hours. During this time, his partner called the police station to ask for information. “You just have to look on Google and get your fingers out of your ass,” the police officer replied, according to her.

An internal administrative investigation

For these latest facts, the Pontarlier police station indicates that an internal investigation has been opened. But above all, after a report made on the 16th to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), an administrative investigation was launched internally “in order to determine whether there was a breach of ethical obligations”, specifies the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police (DIPN), to whom the file was transmitted. However, no disciplinary file has been opened and, as is often the case in this type of case, it will be the word of one against that of the other.
