The arrest of Boualem Sansal caused a wave of indignation in France. Placed under arrest warrant for “terrorist or subversive act”the Algerian writer was notably supported in the European Parliament by Marion Maréchal on November 27. But not everyone supports him, like the doctor in political science, Nadjib Sidi Moussa, in the show C Politics Sunday November 24. Thursday, November 28, it was the former environmentalist MEP Karim Zéribi who was very critical of the writer.
On his Instagram account, he relayed a video of one of his interventions on Beur FM radio where he denounces the attitude of the writer's supporters. “It’s Marine Le Pen who makes the tweets, it’s Bardella. All of a sudden, they love Franco-Algerians when they spit on Algeria, when they spread hatred of Islam, of Muslims”he believes. For him, his defenders do not “don’t like him for his pen” nor for his “defense of freedom”. Karim Zéribi denounces “instrumentalization”.

But the former Marseille municipal councilor goes further. For him, Boualem Sansal “feeds a business which is that of the extreme right and some of the reactionary pseudo-intellectuals”. It is therefore necessary, according to him, that “people of peace, positive people, people who want to respect each other” unite against “these Boualem Sansal, pseudo Islamophobic writers who spread hatred”.

The former MEP and community activist is convinced that France and Algeria “have an inevitable relationship”. Certainly, there are “diplomatic tensions” currently, there is a “ painful story »more “our relationship is inevitable”assures Karim Zéribi, who pleads for the creation “of a bridge where some want to build walls”.
