Rabat – The Provisional Commission for the Management of Affairs in the Press and Publishing Sector submitted, Friday in Rabat, the results of its work to the government, represented by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, nine months after its installation.

The Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, received the president and members of the provisional commission for the management of affairs in the press and publishing sector, who presented him with the conclusions of nine months of work after consultations with various professional organizations in the press and publishing sector, the ministry said in a statement.

This approach is in line with Article 4 of Law 15.23 establishing the provisional commission for the management of affairs in the press and publishing sector, which stipulates an overall assessment of the current situation in the press and publishing sector and the proposal of measures aimed at supporting the foundations of its organization within a period not exceeding nine months from the date of appointment of its members.

During this meeting, the Minister praised the work of the commission, as well as the seriousness and perseverance that accompanied its work, and the commitment to respect the law and the participatory approach adopted by the commission.

Also, he stressed that the press and publishing sector requires a deep reform due to the challenges facing our country, and the upcoming deadlines, in particular the organization of the 2030 World Cup, which requires a strong Moroccan press with skills and quality of content, and having a strong position at the regional and continental levels, the statement concluded.
