firefighters rescued an eagle owl injured in one wing, probably after an accident. This majestic protected raptor was carefully taken care of and transported to a specialized center.

This Friday, the Gard firefighters and their specialized unit USIA30 intervened to rescue an injured European eagle owl. Probably the victim of a collision with a vehicle, the bird of prey had an injured wing, requiring delicate intervention.

Thanks to their specific training and suitable equipment, the firefighters captured the bird without aggravating its injuries. The Eagle Owl, whose powerful claws require expert handling, was then entrusted to the Pont de Gau ornithological center, in the Camargue, to begin its convalescence.

A protected species and emblem of European biodiversity, the Eagle Owl is particularly vulnerable. The firefighters remind you that in the event of discovering an injured wild animal, the right reflex is to call 112 for rapid and appropriate treatment.
