The Métropole de left Belgium with the “Professional Reward”, a prize commending its commitment to physical and sporting activity at work.

A week after being rewarded at the Mayors' Show for its responsible purchasing, the Metropolis of Lyon is once again in the spotlight. In Brussels, the Deputy Vice-President for Human Resources, Zemorda Khelifi, was awarded an award at the #BeActive Awards 2024, in the “Professional Reward” category. More concretely, the community was rewarded for its initiatives in favor of sport and physical activity at work, thanks to its Physical Balance and Health Program (PEPS).

This award is European recognition of our commitment to well-being at workrejoices Zemorda Khelifi in a press release. With the PEPS program, we demonstrate that local authorities can be leading players in promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles.“. This program, launched in September 2023, has benefited 1,500 community agents. Weekly sports sessions and activities according to their needs are offered.

A grant of 10,000 euros was also allocated to the Metropolis. A sum which will be invested in the development of new initiatives to encourage physical activity within its services. Adapted physical activity (APA) sessions have also been developed for agents with disabilities or chronic illnesses.
