On the occasion of the international day against violence against women, November 25, the Department of Tarn-et-Garonne wanted to highlight the work carried out around women victims of violence in conjunction with social workers. of the Maisons des Solidarités (MDS) which support families.

The departmental council is fully involved in coordinating prevention actions, supporting victims and supporting local structures.

The Hôtel du Département hosted a conference hosted by the Information Center on the Rights of Women and Families. The CIDFF, a partner of the Department for 40 years, plays an essential role in this area. Their multidisciplinary team of lawyers, sociologists, psychologists, counselors, all trained in this very specific sector, offers victims complete and lasting support, in a caring and supportive environment. It facilitates the legal and personal journeys of the women concerned. Finally, the CIDFF develops training for social and medico-social workers from the Departmental Solidarity Houses (MDS) of the departmental council. For all these actions, the CIDFF is supported to the tune of €43,000 by the Department. Michel Weill, president of the departmental council and Patricia Ducassé, departmental advisor at the origin of the event, recalled that the Department leading social action has been engaged since 2015 in a departmental coordination system for intra-family violence. In total over 2024, this will finance four coordinator positions who can intervene in particular in police stations or gendarmes, who work in collaboration with the Department's social workers. Leïla Athmani and Marie-Christine Perez, respectively director and president of the CIDFF, presented all the actions carried out by the CIDFF.
