Monday, November 25, 204, the Rosary Teams of the diocese of Metz met in Peltre. Welcomed by the Sisters of Providence of Saint André de Peltre, 110 members of the Rosary Teams arrived from the four corners of the Moselle to experience a day of recollection based on the theme of the year: “ He lived among us.«
As an introduction, after Father Eyquem's prayer to the Virgin, Brother François-Dominique Charles, regional chaplain of the Rosary Teams, introduced the assembly to the history and prayer of the Angelus. In 1456, due to the Turkish peril, Pope Calixtus III prescribed a prayer crusade and requested that the bells ring in the evening for victory against the Turkish Muslims. The idea is to create a call to prayer for Catholics, similar to the call to prayer for Muslims, via the muezzin. And it was the King of France, Louis From then on, the triple Angelus, with its triple ringing, is attested almost everywhere in the West.
Let's rediscover the Angelus prayer: (1) The Angel of the Lord brought the announcement to Mary, (2) Behold the Handmaid of the Lord (3), And the Word became flesh, And he dwelt among us. And Brother François-Dominique, insists that we are inhabited by the Holy Spirit. God makes Man a dwelling place where he dwells. Saint John reminds us, like every Angelus prayer, that in Jesus the Word became flesh and that through his incarnation, he came to dwell among us. In Revelation (21, 3): “ I heard a voice cry from the throne: “This is the dwelling place of God with men. He will have his dwelling with them; they will be his people, and he, God-with-them, will be their God. » God lives in his church. Whatever our often too long journeys through the desert, we believe that the Lord remains through his Word, present in our midst to build his Kingdom. Let us remain in this confidence. »
After the Eucharistic sharing, and the good meal prepared and served, by the sisters of Peltre, the chaplain of the Rosary Teams of Moselle, the priest Paul Baillot, intervened to guide the participants towards the common prayer contained in the booklet for the month of november.
They meditated together on a passage from the Gospel of Luke (1, 39-45) which should guide us, with the help of Mary, to become a “tabernacle” of the living God. Wherever we go, our mission is to carry the presence of the Lord who dwells within us. The life of Jesus is connected to ours, thanks to the Holy Spirit.
Faithful to our daily ten of the rosary, let us continue our mission through our multiple family tasks, through work, through all our activities to “ stand up, start and cry out: Christ is alive, he dwells among us“. The priest blessed the participants before asking them to bless each other, in fraternity and hope.
It was up to Marie-Madeleine Louis to close, thanking all those who participated in this beautiful day of common prayer: “May Mary accompany us throughout our journey as Rosary teams.«
Happy Advent time everyone!
