How does the Ariège CCI work and its role in the region?

The Chambers of Commerce and Industry are public establishments under state supervision. Guided by the general interest, they carry out a public service mission of supporting businesses and the economic areas of the territories. These establishments created more than 4 centuries ago are driven by a logic of proximity. It is with this in mind that they intervene on the ground on a daily basis, working closely with entrepreneurs and communities. Their support covers the entire life cycle of the company, from their creation to their transmission, including their development and any difficulties. The CCIs are also responsible for asserting the economic point of view in a number of external bodies and organizations where their opinion is requested. Their governance is ensured by local business leaders elected every 6 years by their peers. This entrepreneurial coloring leads them to respond with reactivity to the adaptation of their service offering in order to meet the changing needs of the economic world.

What are the major actions you are currently taking?

In this period of successive crises, we are particularly mobilized to activate the various support systems intended for businesses. And we are also very committed to supporting entrepreneurs with our business advisors in their “relaunch” and in leading the necessary transitions: ecological and energy transition, HR transition, digital transition. We are also still strongly committed to the areas of business creation-transmission-takeover, revitalization of centralities, business financing and skills, notably with our Purple Campus training center in Saint-Paul-de-Jarrat. , and on supporting the territories to whom we provide all of our expertise in support of their development strategy and the fabric of companies making up their economic areas.

What mechanisms does the CCI rely on?

There are numerous mechanisms, which we mobilize locally or regionally-nationally as part of our operation within a network of 126 CCIs.

During this period, I would like to highlight in particular the Territoire d'Industrie system which was put to use at the end of 2023 for four years, with the designation of the CCI as Project Manager. This collective approach has made it possible to label our entire department and to bring together the various development stakeholders in Ariège around a shared industrial roadmap. This cooperation has made it possible to identify concrete avenues of action aimed at supporting the new ambitions of the Ariège productive sector, which constitutes a key area of activity in our economy.

What meaning do you give to this special prize that you will present during this 2024 ceremony?

The CCI is the emanation of the economic world, and as such represents and highlights the different sectors of activity that make it up: commerce, services-tourism, industry.

This year, the special CCI prize will be dedicated to a company in the productive sector, which will echo the approach that we are leading with the promising Territoire d'Industrie Ariège 2023-2027 system.
