Johan Hervet and Quentin Trolat of the Gold Coast Rider – an association bringing together outdoor sports enthusiasts – began by emphasizing their satisfaction with the generosity of the crowd during the 24 Hours of Beaune: “More than our victory in the last 24 Hours of Beaune, for us, the nice surprise was the amounts collected with the raffle and the donation box on our stand. This allowed us, with the help of our sponsors, to raise €3,500.”

For Paul and Hugo

They were delighted to redistribute this sum on June 28, in the premises of the Flaveurs et Chefs pastry school, rue Thiers in Beaune. €1,500 was donated to the Chalonnaise association Tous avec Paul – which supports this child with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and multiple disabilities. And €2,000 was dedicated to L’Aventure extraordinaire d’Hugo, in Velars-sur-Ouche – a little boy who has serious after-effects following a lack of oxygen at birth.

“This money will partly cover the costs of the care of the two young boys,” confided Bruno Vuittenez, president of Tous avec Paul. Paul, who since his last operation to strengthen his spine, has had to undergo numerous expensive balneotherapy, osteopathic and shiatsu sessions. Hugo, for his part, has to do intensive physiotherapy courses in a specialized structure in Barcelona. “This very expensive care is difficult for the parents to afford financially.”

A wine auction entitled “100 bottles for Paul” is due to be held soon in Beaune.
