Starligue: C’Chartres MHB will start its championship against a big team

It is against the French vice-champion, H de Nantes, that C’Chartres MHB will open its championship, in front of its public, the first weekend of September. Probably on Friday 6th.

For the second year in a row, the calendar will reserve a spicy start for the Chartrains. After Montpellier last season (defeat 22-38), it is against Nantes, this time, that Nebojsa Stojinovic’s players will have the formidable honor of starting their championship. The reception of the vice-champions of France, recent winners of the Coupe de France at Bercy, will take place the first weekend of September at the Colisée, probably on Friday 6, if we rely on the club’s habits.

Behind this muscular entry, facing a team that they had nevertheless forced to a draw last season (28-28), the Chartrains will continue with a trip to the Côte d’Azur, to Saint-Raphaël, the reception of Cesson-Rennes then a short trip to Créteil. Slightly more clear opportunities to score points in the standings.

Montpellier just before Christmas

On Matchday 7, CCMHB will play on the Coubertin court in Paris, while they will have to wait until Matchdays 11 and 12 to cross paths with the two promoted teams, Tremblay and Istres. Just before Christmas, Montpellier will come to the Colisée, a nice gift for the public on the eve of the holidays. After the international break, the Chartrains will resume in Nîmes, probably on February 14. They will host PSG in early April, on Matchday 22, two months before a home conclusion, against Ivry.

Ilija Abutovic and C’Chartres Métropole Handball part ways amicably

Twelfth last spring, after a very disappointing last third of the season, Chartres will start with the objective of doing much better in 2024-2025. To do this, the staff has regenerated the group, with six departures (Sergiy Onufriyenko, Aleksa Kolakovic, Vadim Gayduchenko, Ilija Abutovic, Wilson Davyes, Zoran Radic on loan) for five arrivals (Quentin Minel, Eduardo Cadarso, Manuel Gaspar, Vinicios Carvalho, Paulo Moreno). The locker room, which until now had an eastern accent, will therefore take on Iberian tones.

Resumed on July 23

Currently on vacation, the players are expected in Chartres on July 23 for a back-to-school meeting, before putting on their overalls the next day. They will then head to Corrèze for a training camp in Bugeat from July 28 to August 3. The first friendly match will take place three days later, on the 6th, with a match against Dreux-Vernouillet (federal N1), at the Palais des Sports in Dreux.

Portuguese pivot Paulo Moreno, captain of Benfica, arrives in Chartres

On the 8th, the Chartrains will meet Limoges at the Colisée, before playing two tournaments: in Chambéry, on August 16-17, with Aix-en-Provence and Nancy, then in Saint-Malo, on August 24-25, with Cesson-Rennes, Saran and Aix-en-Provence.
Then comes the Coupe de France, on September 3-4 (draw to come), before the resumption of the championship, probably on the 6th, therefore, against Nantes.
