This Monday, December 2, taxis from Haute-Loire will join their colleagues from Loire to together thicken the ranks of the demonstration which will be held in Lyon. All taxis in the region will voice their dissatisfaction with the future CPAM 2025 convention.
This agreement, put in place between the CPAM and taxi artisans, aims to regulate the medical transport of patients to hospitals for follow-up care (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, dialysis, etc.) or simply consultations in an already highly regulated profession.
Rates up to 40% lower
“But this time, the authorities have gone too far by setting prices that could be 40% lower than the current agreement which already obliged them to practice discounts on negotiated rates,” indicates the Haute-Loire taxi union. . In addition, transport professionals denounce the new methods of caring for customers with the establishment of waiting lounges in hospitals in order to group patients together to practice “shared transport”.
Shared transport that questions
Beyond the fact that the waiting time for these customers before and after their appointment can sometimes reach 4 hours, the drivers will no longer be able to help them or support them in their administrative procedures. Also note that a customer who refuses shared transport would be obliged to contribute financially to their transport even when they are 100% covered following a long-term or chronic illness.
Jobs and businesses threatened?
“These waiting rooms will also be subject to calls for tender, which leaves room for unqualified and unregulated service companies, the health of our fellow citizens will also be included in the uberization.”
“Certain transport companies already in difficulty will not survive this new agreement and many jobs are threatened. Are government savings also aiming to accentuate the desertification of our countryside?”
