L'Avenir Foot Lozère hosts the Canet-en-Roussillon reserve, at 6 p.m., this Saturday, November 30, for the eighth day of the Regional 1 championship (pool A).
For the first time this season, Avenir Foot Lozère (AFL) conceded two consecutive defeats. Two weeks ago, the Lozériens lost heavily at Lunel, in the championship. A difficult match, lost 5-0. Then, last week, they lost again in Hérault, in the Coupe Occitanie, at Clermontaise. With a reshuffled team, they conceded a goal in the 92e minute to lose 2-1. But at the end of a full match, the performance reassured coach Nabil Zanina.
Restart a positive dynamic
We must now refocus on the championship. The reception, this Saturday, November 30, at 6 p.m., at the Jean-Jacques-Delmas stadium, of the Canet-en-Roussillon reserve is an opportunity to get the AFL moving forward.
Canet's reserves are currently penultimate in Group A of R1, with a record of six defeats in as many matches. They only scored four goals for 22 conceded, including a scathing 9-0, on the pitch of Nîmes Olympique. It's up to the Mendois to be serious and rigorous to restart a positive dynamic.
“We will need the supporters”
Some injured players will return to the group. Enough to start with a certain collective stability and try to catch up with the teams at the top of the table. The Mendois are currently ninth in the standings with nine points, just four points off the podium.
The coach is in any case fully focused on this weekend: “We have a very important match to play and I hope the supporters will respond because we will need them.“
The other teams
The other senior teams are also in the final sprint of this year 2024. The reserve (R3), after its success against Le Buisson (2-1) travels, at 6 p.m., to Réquista, with the ambition to confirm.
Team three (D1), which remains on three consecutive successes, will want to continue on the Saint-Geniez field, at 8 p.m.
Finally, the women play in the Occitanie Cup against FC Thongue and Libron. Kick-off at 3 p.m., Sunday 1is December, at the Causse d'Auge, on behalf of the 32es of final.
