The MIEL association (House of Local Initiatives and Desires), which has a fifteen membersorganized its second barter coffee Saturday November 9, 2024. “Everyone brings what they want and leaves with what they want,” explains Elise Girard, who has lived in Le Tourneur (Souleuvre en Bocage) for 6 years.

Every second Saturday of the month, the MIEL association (Maison des Initiatives et des Envies Locales) offers a “barter café” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The theme is different each time: after a first edition devoted to clothing and jewelry, that of November 9 was dedicated to games and books.

Some brought three books, others took up an entire table. I took a few board games, it allows me to renew

Around fifteen people came to spend a friendly and warm moment. “People come, stay a little, share a coffee, discuss the books they have read,” indicates Marie-Alice Lebeurier, who participated in the organization of the event. This allows to create social connections. Our goal is to rediscover the village spirit that existed in the past. »

The EVS (Social Living Space) is now recognized and subsidized by the CAF (Family Allowance Fund). “The goal is for residents to take advantage of it and offer activities,” continues Marie-Alice.

We would like other volunteers to join us, and to have an employee to be able to organize more actions

And the ideas are already numerous: sewing lessons, knitting, cooking, commission on parenting… A games evening, upon registration, is already planned; a survey will allow you to choose a date.

In partnership with CLAC (Local Collective for Cultural Action), a program of 7 shows has been developed. “We work with Les Amis de Montamy and the AMS (Ateliers Musicaux de la Souleuvre), explains Anne-Laure Louazel, who runs a batucada workshop on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. We bring in the artists, we take care of their accommodation, communication, and decorations. Any resident can participate in the creation of the program.
