The Palestinian people are suffering the greatest catastrophe in their history. The far-right Israeli government wants to destroy any hope of emancipation of the Palestinian people. The mass massacres, crimes against humanity and war crimes, genocide, of which he is guilty, were condemned by the International Court of Justice and gave rise to the issuance of arrest warrants from the of the International Criminal Court. We also denounce the policy of ethnic cleansing of the Israeli army and settlers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
We reaffirm the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to the realization of their legitimate national rights, in complete independence, in accordance with the right of peoples to self-determination, and to live in peace and security, within the framework of a sovereign and democratic, alongside the Israeli people. Only a political solution and the application of international law will allow a just and lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis.
We therefore demand, in accordance with UN resolutions:
– An immediate and permanent ceasefire for the entire region,
– The trial of war criminals in accordance with the ICC ruling,
– The protection of the Palestinian people against attacks by the Israeli army and settlers,
– Recognition by France and the European Union of the State of Palestine on the basis of the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,
– The release of Palestinian political prisoners and Israeli hostages,
– The dismantling of all Israeli settlements and the end of the occupation,
– The lifting of the blockade of Gaza,
– The exercise of the right of return of refugees,
This is the path to establishing a peaceful relationship between the Palestinian and Israeli people.
We call on the EU and France to condemn the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli government. They must enforce the judgments of the ICC. We call for the suspension of the EU-Israel free trade agreement until the State of Israel complies with international law, and for an immediate end to all deliveries of weapons, military equipment and military cooperation between European countries and the State of Israel.
While the Israeli far right has announced the unilateral and illegal annexation of part of the West Bank for 2025, which would be added to the illegal annexation of East Jerusalem, there is an urgent need to act!
On this International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the PCF and the PLO therefore announce their commitment to building a broad solidarity campaign on a European and French scale for the realization of the national rights of the Palestinian people.
