RC Lens: Andy Diouf, the resurrection?

Due to performances that did not live up to expectations Frank Haise, Andy Diouf failed to establish himself in the starting eleven of the Lensois coach. As a result, he only took part in 25 matches for a total playing time of 1,325 minutes.

Called up to play the Olympic Games with France, the Lens midfielder has just learned that he is not part of the final list, but that he is only a reserve. He will be able to continue training with the group, but will never be on the bench.

It remains to be seen whether the RC Lens has no interest in recalling his player to best prepare for the season with the Blood and Gold. Andy Diouf has everything to prove to his new coach and wasting time with the French Olympic team is not the best plan as far as he is concerned.

Yet, yesterday, Andy Diouf had a very successful first preparation match with the reserves against Paraguay (4-1 victory). The commentary of theTeam speaks for himself:

With a match like that, he will perhaps make Thierry Henry regret having put him among the reserves. The midfielder constantly hit the ball at his feet, breaking lines by driving and bringing danger by entering from the right. A caviar for Kalimuendo (77*) and a shot over (79′).

If this performance does not open the eyes of Thierry Henrythis is undoubtedly good news for the Blood and Gold…
