POLITICS – A choice that may surprise. LR MEP Nadine Morano will vote for the miscellaneous left Dominique Potier in the 5th constituency of Meurthe-et-Moselle on Sunday because she refuses to give her vote to Louis-Joseph Pecher, accused of anti-Semitism, she explained to AFP on Thursday.

“I think an anti-Semitic candidate should not receive my support”declared the former minister of Nicolas Sarkozy, marked on the right, confirming information from the Republican Lorraine. She explained “vote against” Louis-Joseh Pecher and therefore for the outgoing miscellaneous left MP Dominique Potier.

Socialist, Dominique Potier “is a political opponent but he is not anti-Semitic, is not a candidate of the Popular Front, does not sit on the Nupes and he has recognized that Hamas is a terrorist organization”highlighted Nadine Morano. Although she indicated that she would vote for him, she nevertheless specified that she was not giving any voting instructions.

No voting instructions

“I am not calling for a vote for a candidate”she stressed, in accordance with the position of LR, which does not give voting instructions.

The National Rally and Éric Ciotti, who are forming an alliance for the legislative elections, withdrew their support for Louis-Joseph Pecher on June 19 for anti-Semitic comments on social networks.

“Several social media accounts, used under pseudonyms attributed to him, contain anti-Semitic, homophobic and filthy comments.”explained Eric Ciotti. Louis-Joseph Pecher, however, still claims the label “Right – Friends of Eric Ciotti”.

“This gentleman is committing electoral fraud” a you “election tourism” castigated Nadine Morano, denouncing her lack of local roots. In the first round, Louis-Joseph Pecher had obtained 30.45% of the votes, against 43.47% for Dominique Potier.
