5 years of innovation for MYCÉLIUM

The Quebec City incubator-accelerator for food processing companies recently held a recognition event at the Grand Marché de Québec for its cohorts 9 and 10 (about twenty entrepreneurs) to highlight 5 years of food innovation. More than 130 companies from all over Quebec have been propelled by the incubator since its creation in 2019. MYCÉLIUM incubatees share a common desire to develop and market innovative, healthy and value-added food products in addition to being impact companies, meaning that they integrate a positive social and environmental impact on society into their economic business model. It is with this in mind that the team of the Créneau d’excellence Aliments Santé, manager of MYCÉLIUM, is creating its various support paths: Incubation, Evolution and Impact Companies. In fact, the call for applications is launched for the recruitment of the 13e cohort of the Incubation course. Operation NEPTUNE

The Valcartier Military Family Resource Centre Foundation (FCRFMV) will hold its Operation NEPTUNE Benefit Cocktail tomorrow, starting at 4 p.m., at the Port of Québec Cruise Terminal as part of the Rendez-vous Naval de Québec, which will end on Sunday. The event will take place under the high patronage of the ship’s captain Mathieu Leroux, CD, Regional Captain of the Eastern Region of the Naval Reserve, and Mario Girard, President and CEO of the Quebec Port Authority. The funds raised will be used to finance services for military families, those who are left behind when their spouse is on a mission in a theatre of operations, at home or abroad. Operation Neptune was the first phase of Operation Overlord, which included the landing (photo) and the establishment of beachheads in Normandy by the Allies in June 1944. Tickets can be reserved by visiting the Foundation’s website https://www.fondationcrfmv.com/. Photo domaine public.

Family Day

Nathalie Mathieu, manager of the Familiprix Jean-François Lafrance pharmacy on Charest Boulevard East in Quebec City, is back in force again this summer with her big family party to benefit the Breakfast Club. The event will take place, rain or shine, in the backyard of the Patro Laval (or the gym in case of rain) on Saturday, July 20, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 145, rue Bigaouette, in Quebec City. The profits from the sale of hot dogs, soft drinks, water, cotton candy and 50/50, as well as the tips collected, will be donated directly to the Club, which wants to offer young people everywhere daily access to a nutritious breakfast. Music, inflatable games and water games will round out the day’s entertainment. Free admission. Poster provided by Familiprix.
