In Site, a specialist in scenography, is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Friday and Saturday in La Rochelle.

On July 5 and 6, the scenography workshop In Site, located at Les Minimes in La Rochelle, will celebrate its 25th anniversary. In a quarter of a century, In Site has completed 85 projects throughout France and internationally.
Nationally recognized but surprisingly little locally, this event is an opportunity for this company to showcase its know-how and this little-known profession. Some answers with Agnès Badiche, head of the company.

Who are you ?

“Little known to the general public, the profession of scenographer is nevertheless fascinating. Between interior architecture and museography, the scenographer designs exhibition routes for museums, historic monuments and cultural centers. At In Site, we create immersive experiences that reveal the essence of a place and transmit knowledge in an aesthetic and engaging way. Our methodology is based on a deep understanding of the subject and attentive listening to the places to offer fair and sensitive routes. Our interactive scenographies awaken all the senses of the visitor: sight, hearing, touch, smell and sometimes even taste.”

Do you have any examples to give us of your work?

“At the Noirlac Abbey in Cher, In Site makes the walls speak. In Montlieu-la-Garde in Charente-Maritime, our team brings the forest into the building. In Bergues in the North, the bells are transformed into light, while at the University of Poitiers, the researchers’ discoveries are highlighted by a modern cabinet of curiosities and scientists of the future…”

What topics do you cover?

“In 25 years, In Site has explored the most varied subjects, from climate issues to the history of the Marquis de La Fayette, via the ethnic groups of Northern Vietnam or even the architecture of the 1950s in Royan. Our projects, hosted in prestigious or intimate sites, have attracted millions of visitors.”

Awards reward your work…

“Our expertise is nationally recognized. We have won an accessibility award from the Ministry of Culture, Label 4 handicaps and remarkable garden for the museum of the island of Oléron and the “National Prize for wood construction” for the Menez Meur estate. We also share our know-how at the University of La Rochelle and through conferences.”
