Every year in France, more and more new retirees are looking to move to spend their retirement in another environment. The real estate developer Nexity has just unveiled an exclusive ranking of the 10 best cities for happy days.
Cost of living, infrastructure, climate, living environment, accessibility… several criteria are taken into account in this choice. And some destinations have good points. This is particularly the case of Saint-Malo, the only town in Ille-et-Vilaine to appear in this ranking.
Saint-Malo in the top 10
“If the sea air attracts you, Saint-Malo will welcome you with open arms with its geological site, its very oceanic temperate climate, its 8 kilometers of beach, its cultural and sporting facilities, its various infrastructures, etc.,” writes Nexity in his study.
The Corsair city and its coastline have attracted a constant flow of retirees for many years now. In 2023, 35% of the population of the entire metropolitan area was over 60 years old. In the rest of the ranking, we find another Breton city, Vannes, and two destinations in Vendée: Challans and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.
