Savoie: objective of zero white zones by 2026

A 4G pylon is inaugurated this Thursday in Valloire. Are there still many white areas in Savoie and Haute-Savoie? We take stock with Olivier Riffard, from the French telecoms federation.

In Maurienne, residents of Valloire and tourists can now use their smartphones! The sector has just been equipped with a 4G pylon which includes all operators. It was inaugurated this Thursday afternoon in the presence of Olivier Riffard, deputy general director of the French Telecoms Federation (association which brings together the four telephone operators). So, no matter your operator, you will be able to call. “That’s the goal of the New Deal.”explains Olivier Riffard, in white areas or so-called unprofitable areas, there was an agreement between the operators and the government” to install “four operator” antennas.

According to Olivier Riffard, “Valloire is one of the 75 4G sites which will eventually be installed in Savoie to eradicate all of the white zones in this territory. Today, of these 75 pylons identified, there are already 37 in service”. And in Haute-Savoie, out of 68 4G pylons listed in the “New Deal” program, there are 30 left to install. The objective is to achieve zero white zones by 2026.
