Victoria and David Beckham don their unforgettable purple outfits again to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary

25 years ago, Victoria and David Beckham tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Ireland, displaying an astonishing wardrobe with several different outfits. Among them, those famous purple outfits, now cult, in which the newlyweds matched. On the occasion of their silver wedding anniversary, which they decided to celebrate a day early, Victoria and David took the gamble of wearing them again for the occasion. And it seems that the couple has neither aged nor gained a pound. Only their hair is different. While a video posted on social media shows the former footballer struggling with his pants to try to put them on, the garment clearly still suits him perfectly. For Victoria, it’s the same. Her long, tight purple dress still suits her perfectly. “Yes, we still have them! I can’t believe it’s been 25 years and they still fit us!” “We love you so much,” the mother-of-one captioned a joint Instagram post, showing the couple donning each other’s creations.Antonio Berardi originals of their marriage.

In the new snap, David is wearing a full suit with matching purple suede boots and a matching boutonniere. Victoria, meanwhile, is sporting a sleeveless dress with a side slit, revealing a red lining. Around her shoulder, the stylist added a bouquet of purple and red fabric flowers, over which her loose brunette locks are draped. The bride and groom, seated on matching velvet and gold thrones, had fun recreating a scene from their wedding.

“The Transatlantic Dress”

For the official ceremony on July 4, 1999, Victoria and David Beckham were not only in purple but also wore immaculate, more traditional outfits. The bride had chosen a piece signed Vera Wang. A dress that required many fittings and a large travel budget.

“I call it the transatlantic dress,” Vera Wang told People last October. This bodice flew four times on Concorde… The underbodice was made by a very famous haute couture corset maker, Mister Pearl, who works only in London.” Adding: “He makes corsets that you put on with these metal things, like they used to do. It takes about 45 minutes to lace it up and it can take you down 18 inches like Scarlett O’Hara… I couldn’t live with that because I need to be comfortable, as I always say. But Victoria did it.”
